Installation
On the download site you'll find the setup file of a-squared Anti-Malware for
download.
-> a-squared download site
Setup:
Run the installation file and follow the directions of the installation
assistant. During the installation you can choose where you'd like to install
the program and whether or not to place icons on the desktop and/or in the
quick start tray.
Security Wizard:
After the installation is completed, you'll be instructed to run the a-squared
Security Wizard that helps you to setup an optimal security configuration on
your computer. The wizard contains 3 major steps which are required to turn
your computer in a save environment:
-
Update the software
This is necessary as a new installation has not all the latest Malware
signatures included, because every day hundreds of new Malwares are added to
the detection. The signatures, as well as any available, new program
components, are automatically downloaded and installed during the online
update.
Login:
In order to have access to the updates you need an a-squared user account. This
account identifies you to the update server and ensures that you receive the
correct update files.
If you don't have an account already, you can create one for free at any time
by clicking the "Create account" link within the program or at the a-squared website.
-> Create an a-squared
account
After you've created an account, you'll receive an e-mail with the login
username and password. Enter these details during the online update and click
"Login".
On the next screen, please select one of the licenses which are attached with
your user account. The selected license will be used on your computer and may
not be used on any other machine.
Once the license is selected, click "Next" to go to the updater settings
dialog. Choose your preferred settings and go next to the download of available
updates.
-
Clean your computer from Malware
Select one of the predefined scan types or use the custom scan that allows you
to modify all scanner settings. When the scan has finished, you probably may
see a list of detected malicious objects. Click the Malware name to get more
online information about a specific Malware. Choose which objects you want to
remove instantly or put them into quarantine. This is recommended because the
quarantine is save and you can restore a file if necessary later.
-
Configure background guard
This is the most important part of the Security Wizard because here you can
configure the proactive protection against Malware. Choose the settings for
your needs. For most computers the default settings will do the perfect
configuration. Click "Next" to apply the settings and to run the background
guard.
After the Security Wizard has finished, you can see that the guard is running,
if you see the a-squared icon in the taskbar beside the clock.
Uninstall
To uninstall a-squared proceed as follows:
1. Close all program components of a-squared
2. Open the Windows Control Panel
3. Open "Add/Remove Software"

5. Click "Remove"
If "a-squared" is not shown in the list, you can also manually delete the
